Fees, Terms and Conditions
DETAILED ASSESSMENT £90 per hour (pro rata) plus £50 for written report (optional)
This normally takes up to 2 hours and is often carried out over two sessions, depending on the client's needs. While each client is individual, it is likely to include a full assessment of communication ability (expressive and receptive skills), medical and social history and oro-motor exam. This enables the therapist to agree goals with the client and decide the most appropriate path for therapy. A written report, detailing assessment findings and recommendations, can be provided for an additional £50. In certain circumstances (e.g. complex cases) further assessment sessions may be recommended.
STANDARD THERAPY £90 per hour (pro rata)
A therapy session lasts between 50 minutes and one hour and this time can be spent with the client, partner or carers. Any external time spent outside the consultation in preparation of material, planning, writing notes and liaising with other professionals is included in this fee.
LETTERS, REPORTS and TREATMENT PROGRAMMES
Written documents requested outside of the initial assessment report or standard therapy session are charged in respect of the total time taken to prepare them, based on a rate of £90 per hour. The therapist reserves the right to charge for lengthy telephone conversations at the standard rate. Clients will be advised in advance.
TRAVELLING CHARGE
No travel charge is made for home visits within a 5-mile radius (i.e. 10-mile round trip). Excess mileage is charged at 50p per mile or half my hourly rate based on the time taken.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Sessions cancelled by the client with less than 24 hours notice will be liable to the full charge of the session fee (without any travelling costs).
PAYMENT
Clients are requested to settle their accounts on the day of the appointment. An administration charge of £10 will be incurred for late payments. Cash, cheques or bank transfer are accepted.
Any claims from private health or medical insurance companies are the sole responsibility of the client. A receipt will be provided following payment (which the client may wish to present to their medical company).
OTHER SERVICES
Talks, workshops and training sessions are available for groups of carers and professionals. These can be geared to specific areas of interest.
Before an initial consultation, clients will be asked to sign a declaration indicating that they have read and understood the terms and conditions of charges.
