Welcome to Your Speech

Private Speech and Language Therapy for adults in Surrey

SESSIONS AVAILABLE ONLINE OR FACE-TO-FACE

I am Joanna Armstrong, an Independent Speech and Language Therapist, specialising in working with adults with acquired and neurological communication disorders and swallowing difficulties.  Communication difficulties can occur due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumours or progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, MND and Multiple Sclerosis.  These difficulties can affect every aspect of a person's life.

I work with the individual and their family to assess and manage communication disorders, providing tailored programmes or strategies and advice to meet the individual needs of the person.  I can also provide Conversation Partner Training to help people improve their daily communication with those closest to them.  I work in the client's home or care home.  My approach is flexible, client-centred and evidence-based.

I am also certified in LSVT, a clinically-proven method of improving voice and speech in individuals with Parkinson's Disease.  To find out more about this intensive programme, please see the LSVT page.

I live in Walton-on-Thames and work across Surrey, Middlesex and South-West London (including Esher, Weybridge, Cobham, Oxshott, West Blyfeet, Chertsey, Addlestone, Ashford, Englefield Green, Sunbury, Woking, Staines, Hampton Wick, Hampton, Teddington, Kingston-upon-Thames, Wimbledon and Surbiton).  I visit private homes, care homes and rehabilitation centres.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to explore any aspects of Speech and Language Therapy and how it can help you.

I am a member of the RCSLT, HCPC and ASLTIP.  I am registered with BUPA, Aviva and AXAPPP.
